Hi, I've been researching cropping for the past coupla hours but I'm not really getting what I'm looking for. Either the information is too situation-specific or too vague and certain solutions (such as AutoFitCD, which crashes my encode) are overly complicated for what I wanna do. So I thought I'd just come right out and ask you folks...

Here's my plight: my video is a 4:3 image that has been encoded anamorphically. I'd like to crop the pillar bars on the sides so that I end up with a fullscreen 4:3 SVCD.

Now, I'm aware of the Crop(x,x,x,x) command for Avisynth but I'm unsure of the formula for determining the value of those x's. I know that if I import my video into TMPGenc, using the clip function I can get things looking pretty nice if I remove 128 pixels from both the left and right hand sides (theoretically, since the video is PAL, the stretched resolution is 1024x576, with those clipping settings enabled it becomes 768x576 which is a 4:3 ratio).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ha! I searched for that one but it didn't come up so I assumed that posts were deleted after awhile. I'll be sure to bookmark it for future reference. Thanks.
