When i encode AC3 files i'm unsure if a small delay is being added at the start. My original wav file starts perfect, i load it into tmpgenc 3 and have a look and the audio graph starts at 0 and sound is being outputted at this point.
However, after an AC3 encode via either TMPGEnc Sound Player or ffmpeg gui if i then convert that AC3 back into a wav file (for the sake of the audio graph showing in tmpgenc 3) a delay of around 5ms has developed until the sound begins.
I'm trying to achieve perfectly synced DVDs:
1. Is this a feature of AC3 compression?
2. Is this because i'm converting from AC3 back to wav?
3. Is there a program i can get to view an AC3 audio 'graph' or whatever TMPGEnc 3 displays for PCM.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
