Hi all. :)
Is there a AviSynth filter that can be used to minimise CCE "induced noise" (for lack of a better way of putting it)?
Thanks in advance. ;)

I use UnDot() on all my encodings, and depending on how noisy the source is also one of the following Unfilter(-5,-5), Deen(), Fluxsmooth(7,7) or Fluxsmooth(9,9). UnDot and Unfilter are very CPU light, there's hardly any speed loss. Deen slows it down with approx 10% - it's very effective, but has a tendency of making the picture slightly darker than the original. Fluxsmooth(7,7)/Fluxsmooth(9,9) beeing my favorite on very noisy sources is slightly faster than Deen, and is a good combo with UnDot. A good exampel is I just did 'Mad Dog and Glory', and without filtering at all, it looked pixelated on the tv eventhough I've used 2-pass cce. With UnDot it was much better, but it got really good with UnDot AND Fluxsmooth(9,9).
But with all things in life there're different opinions, and other preferences - my advice to you is, do a little reading in the avisynth section of the forum, look at the many filter comparations there's been made. They helped me get a good combo of filters without blurring the picture too much.
