Ok, here's the deal... I recently just bought a hauppauge wintv capture card off of e-bay, and I didn't realize until I recieved it that it didn't have s-video. Now here's my dilema, will the s-video improve my video quality enough to justify getting a new card? I'm going to be using my capture card to convert a bunch of vhs to dvd. I'm fairly good at correcting chroma and lumina problems, but do you guys think that will still yield a high enough quality product. Any input would be appreciated.

Just to clarify - are you using a VCR that has an s-video output? (i.e. AFAIK only SVHS models have an s-video output)

Not yet, but I'm in the process of getting one.

I can tell you that even a S-VHS tape deck playing a VHS tape, the capture will look better using S-video in.

Do SCART to S-Video cables provide good results?
I'm having problems with excessuve noise (see my post here http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=81337) and I'm trying to pinpoint the problem.
