Hi,

I have used dvd2svcd to backup 24 series 3 PAL, this is the first time i've backed up a series but have had much success with films.

The problem occurs when scenarist is producing the dvd image file, the process gets to about 35% then scenarist crashes.

Under the build log it gives an error "scene duration shall be more than 0.4 seconds", although the process continues.

Import log:

Info Validateing Video (Encoded_Video_CCE_PAL)

There are a few problems with Scenarist in the build of DVD2SVCD you're using.

Try the latest build - some of the issues have been ironed out. However, also the new build has a free bundled authoring system so you don't need the rather fussy Scenarist. Give it a go.

There are some issues with AVI2DVD with the latest build so you may wish to keep installations of both builds for now if you use AVI2DVD. By this I mean install the new build to a different folder, rather than overwriting your current build.

However a new build is in the later stages of development which irons out these problems and further improves Scenarist support. This should hopefully be with us soon.

Cheers

Thanks very much, I now have it working. The problem was solved by selecting use fixed chapters.

I will install the new build and start working on the rest of the disks.

Cheers

IIRC, there is a limit to the number of chapters allowable by DVD specifications (99 rings a bell).

If you use the default settings in 121B3, fixed chapters are set at 60 seconds, which exceeds this.

As this is a limit of DVD-Video specifications rather than Scenarist, I am not sure using the free authoring engine will fix this.

Anyway, good luck :)

Thanks, I will check out the links tommorow.

Disks one came out well although it had about 34 chapters.

Now i'm having problems with the second disk, It keeps only ripping one chapter, i think its may be where i'm using internal ripping proceedures but will look into it tommorow.

Thanks

Just had a look and I reckon you have cracked the problem. As far as I knew i did not have the still chapter but this cannot be the case.

Thanks Very Much.
