wmv encoder?

Any suggestions for good wmv encoders?

i only know of two

the WMV VCM codec and WMencoder. both are somewherte on microsoft's site.

hmm but what setting would u suggest for free play around codec.

I use the Windows Media 8 command line encoder. The settings I use are -v_mode 2 -v_quality 96 also I use .bat files to launch the encoder so I don't have to type in everything at promt. Using the quality based vbr makes it kinda hard to hit your target size with large files but works great for small clips.

thats an impossible question... it depends on your source, target resolution, preference...
