I have a question that no seem able to answer and was wondering if you could help?

I have a Pace Di4000N Digital NTL cable box. I also have a brand new PC running windows 2000. I am using a USB2.0 video capture device as a digital video HD recorder, as I dont own a VCR and am experiencing a type of copy protection that isnt macrovision as far I can tell.

I have very feint horizontal lines rolling upward and a type of low level audio humming (at a guess 60/70Hz) whenever either of the yellow (video) red/white (audio) RCA connectors are connected via scart. This happens on every channel (inc all non-subscription channels) and even if i take a scart feed indirectly (ie - scart from tv, with digital feed via RF cable to TV)

I can get a completely interference free signal from just the TV (normal RF TV, without any form of digital cable connection) or from a DVD via scart, so I know my system works okay.
Is the digital box outputting a form of copy-protection and is there anything I can do?

Any help would be good

I've managed to capture from a digital ntl box with a PCI capture card before, so I don't think there is any copy protection.

Just a very wild guess, but when you say "hum" it sounds to me like some kind of feedback. Try disconnecting the input to your cable modem?
