hiyah.

there's been talk in my household about getting a DVB capture card and doing the whole "HTPC" thing...

however, i want to buy before the US-AUS Free Trade Agreement comes into effect, and presumably the broadcast flag becomes a problem.

so, bearing in mind that i'm a little clueless with DVB, could someone recommend a place to start looking for a (not too expensive) solution?

hay Mug, check out the local DTV Aus forum at: http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php

You basically have two choices, a PCI card, etc or a single unit like a Topfield TF5000PVRt, which is now under $800 for the 80GB model and gives you twin tuner recording of SD broadcast.

There are two sections on that web site for both PC options and PVR/DVD recorder options.

Hi Jeremy,

I wish!! The Nebula is selling over here for about $289 Australian!
There's a huge markup on them by the local distributors.
