Nero montly update is late (holidays?), can we expect something about AVC (the rumored decoder, at least) and the extra functionality of their software in the next (August or September...) release?

3ivX "confirmed" in their forum the existence of a project regarding a H.264 codec (available "soon", I guess)

Has anyone heard any news about the new Nero audio encoder? (The one that should have been showed with H.264 this June - if they where really showed to anyone)

Just as a uninformed user, but i don't think ahead is going to release a h.264/AVC encoder very soon, at least not in their regular commercial products. As far as i know them they usually release "finished" products. And at the moment, i don't think anyone already has a h.264 encoder that you would sell to naive user without staining your engineer's consciousness.
Techdemos are fine, even if you were to charge for it. But then you would label it as such and not ship it with for instance nero or recode.

Well, now the h264 decoding is there in Recode package, and I heard from the developers that the h264 encoding is not far.
It will be interesting, though I think that in any case there will be quite a lot of room for further optimizations after the first h264 encoder releases no matter which company in question.
