A new H.264 DVD Shrink/Converter

A full-new DVD Converter based on H.264 codec is deveoped recently. The DVD files will be converted to H.264 data format files. And the data size is super small (under very good render quality and D1 size). Please download the Demo version and try it.

Summary

MKi DVD Converter is an powerful and easy DVD Converter application for converting
DVDs to ASF format (wmv) (based on H.264 codec) with excellent output quality.

NOTE: MKi DVD Converter forbid backing up DVDs for illegal purposes.

MKi DVD Converter is "Shareware". This means some functions are disabled in the
trial version if you decide to keep the software and get full functions, you
must register your copy and apply a hardware to acceralate the product.

The software is leased to the customer and the fee is: US$0.05/per DVD chapter.
In this software package, we will provide several video streaming products as well as DVD Converter,
there are WebCam, Live Video broadcasting, TV capturing, and MKi Password Manager. Meanwhile, we provide third-party
development using our H.264 codec.
The details are listed as following:
WebCam charge US$ 0.02/per hr and free charge if using QCIF (172X144) format.
Live Video Broadcasting charge US$0.05/per hr.
TV Capturing charge US$0.02/per hr.
MKi Password Manager is free.
The minunum using time is one hour.

The official product package will be released in Sept, 2004.
Usually, the customer put US29.00 as deposit and proceeding fee (Hardware Deposite is: US$20.00
and transfer proceeding fee plus delievery fee is US$ 9.00). We will delieve a USB-microChip to you
in 2 weeks. (Expressed delieve will be available if the customer pay US$15.00 as express delieve fee).

dont you think thats a little strict i mean OpenSource solutions are allready in development and look even further developed then your solution and you really want to lease this and take US$0.05/per DVD chapter i still can't belive what i read there sorry and to what i can see this ConvertDVD has no Bitrate functions eg no Rate Control at all and wich options will be activated with this USB Dongle that aren't active now ?

Sorry I am not sure what the rate controll means? You means my H.264's compression ratio?

yes how can the bitrate be defined or is it only possible to use this quality slider that looks like a option for setting a constant quantizer for the whole movie ?

I'm guessing the "Output" button is supposed to have some configuration options attached to it but nothing appears.

Also I notice it only works on non-CSS encrypted DVD sources, or so it seemed on my attempts to test it and then when I did manage to get it encoding it died part way through stating that an error had occurred and did I want to go on to the next file. Has anyone else had any luck?

Could you make VOB files selectable from hard disc directories so we don't have to burn out our DVD-ROM drives? :)

Can't give it anything but VOBs so I can't deinterlace anything.. The audio codec can't be changed either. Please release the DLLs so we can test it properly using VirtualDub.. The encoding program uses only 50% CPU as well, I guess it doesn't support hyperthreading.

I assume since you are charging for usage of the product that you are paying the patent holders their royalties on h.264? If not, you're violating the law. Folks like xvid get around patent fees by making only the source available for educational purposes at no charge what-so-ever.

I've tried this encoder on some sample VOB files I have and it does indeed work.

The application is of limited value as it has very few options (e.g no control over audio) and the quality of the output is not yet very good.

But it has potential, just needs work. Making it freeware would be a good move indeed!

I can't access the forum becuase China block the forum.
we will publish our SDK recently. But not free.
We can give a free very slow SDK as test demo.
we will promote a SDK with hardware accelerator.
