I don't know much about the exact commandline required, but I do know for sure that Easy Real Media Producer accepts mkv files. In your case, you would need to have both the Real and AAC filters. Just convert it like you would do to an avi file. :p

One would assume that they mean remuxing though, not re-encoding.

I don't think it's possible, since there is no RMVB muxer avalible except if you encode...

Remux RealVideo inside MKV to RMVB container. RMVB has better compatibility with players.

@wata

i think it's inpossible to extract the rmvb stream, in fact when u convert it in matroska it change the structure (merge some packets who compose a frame) so the reverse option is impossible.

matroska has got nothing to do with MPEG4... and neither do i. :p

there just arent any issues playing matroska files with realvideo... not anymore than playing realmedia files themselves that is...

would like to stick to fewer different container/codec as possible, now using avi/xvid and realmedia only
i found this commandline utils RealMedia Analyzer, Version 0.30.00.Win32, i could mux old rv9 files, might be able to mux rv10

but i couldn't demux mkv back to a rmvb & aac files, any tools that can do that
virtualdubmod can't demux to rmvb

Did you try mkvextract?

or

mkvextract is unfortunately not able to mux HE-AAC back into RM. It can only mux RealMedia filetypes back to RM, and HE-AAC and AAC are not native RealMedia filetypes.
