Hello! I just released the 0.60 version of my application.

Overview - http://fightersoft.openvision.ro/aiwplayer/overview.htm

What is somehow special about this version is the new feature added - the imdb.com communication module. More information can be found here - http://fightersoft.openvision.ro/aiwplayer/howto.htm#movieinfo

AIW Player 0.61 released:

Added features: Added deinterlace support for broadcasting mode for high quality transmissions over the internet or LAN at a very low CPU cost. Now you can switch off the OSD (View - OSD Channel Names). Added an option to deny remote channel changing (from WANChat), added support for WANChat 0.21. Now, when connecting to an url AIW Player displays the connection status in the statusbar, added Chinese language support.

Fixed bugs: Some broadcasting related bugs were eliminated.

Check out the quality of the 768x576 deinterlaced broadcasts and the new WANChat 0.21 that features remotley changing channel up / down on the AIW Player broadcasting server.

AIW Player 0.62:

Added features: Added Custom mode video playback. You can open a video file using Sources - Custom. When opening a file in this way you can select the desired audio renderer (choose wich audio card to use) and wheter to apply or not deinterlaceing. For example if you have an interlaced video file (i.e. original capture files at higher resolution than 384x288) you can check this option and AIW Player will automatically deinterlace the video. Added many new options to the broadcasting mode - display the number of connections, added callvote mode (allow users connected with AIW Remote Chat to callvotes to set a specific channel), added lock/unlock (to enable or disable remote channel changing via AIW Remote Chat), choosing the path for the broadcasting file.

Fixed bugs: Huge code optimizations (now AIW Player uses 1 megabyte less memory). When in broadcasting mode the statusbar times are not displayed anymore (there was no need anyway), fixed some issues when closing AIW Player from broadcasting or url mode, now you can restore main window when no preview is checked when broadcasting without restarting broadcasting mode, fixed tons of bugs in the AIW Remote Chat communication module, fixed some multimonitor issues.

Actually a while back it had support for drag and drop, but it broke down some time ago and completley forgot to fix it. It will be available in the next release.

AIW Player 0.63:

Added features: Added settings per channel. Now, AIW Player can remember channel specific settings like brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, volume and tv format (pal, ntsc, secam). You can also specify a hotkey number for each channel to easily recall the channel by typing it's number or by pressing it from the remote controller. Now AIW Player remembers audio pin when broadcasting (you no longer need to select an apropriate pin for broadcasting mode each time (line in, mic, etc)). Redesigned the broadcasting window.

Fixed bugs: Fixed occasional freeze when opening video files, fixed some broken shortcuts (+,-./,*). Fixed some bugs related to custom mode. Fixed and much more improuved lang.pak file.

Ups... forgot about the drag and drop feature. Ok, *next* release. :)

Fightersoft Development Proudly Presents AIW Player 0.65:

Added features:

- Rewritten the whole broadcast engine. Now the user can choose what Windows Media Codecs (standard video V1 (ISO MPEG), V7, V8, V9 or screen video v9) to use when broadcasting. You can now, finally, specify your desired bandwith for both video and audio streams. When a resolution higher than 384x288 is selected, the deinterlace option is activated. Also when a resolution lower or equal to 384x288 is selected, the preview video while broadcasting is deactivated. This will prevent wrong user input. You can now specify both input resolution and output resolution. The input resolution that was available until now only configured the video stream from the tuner to the encoder. The output resolution will configure the resolution sent from the encoder to the broadcast clients. High input and output resolutions achieve incredible broadcast quality (of course at the expense of the CPU power).
- Added broadcast from desktop feature.
- Created a control panel that lets you configure most important features of AIW Player. This will also explain in detail every feature in a side text box. Now, only needed options are viewable (for example, when watching a video file, the OSD Channel Names option will no longer be visible).
- Added support for DScaler's deinterlace filter. Current version of AIW Player doesn't support saving settings to the filter, but future versions will fix this shortcoming.
- Written a powerfull error handling system. Now AIW Player displays an error message with more details about the error that occured and should no longer remain frozen (when only able to close it by end process). This also fixes problems related to the data retrieval from the registry (no more "Failed to get VALUExx" messages when starting AIW Player).
- Major optimizations to the filtergraph manipulation engine (faster and much more reliable switching between modes - tv mode - file playback - broadcast mode, etc). This fixed occasional hangs when switching between modes or when quiting AIW Player.
- Added fade in feature when AIW Player starts (can be disabled from the View menu).
- Now "Loading..." is displayed until application is ready for user interaction.
- Now AIW Player remembers whether it was playing or was paused and what mode it was in before Release Video – ex Toggle Release - (the function is also used when switching between video renderers (dsvideowindow and vmr9), when coming back from Small Window Mode and when Restoring Main Window).
- If View - Remember Mode is checked AIW Player now auto starts broadcasting and fm modes, too.
- AIW Player now remembers soundvolume, image settings and aspect ratio when opening video files.
- Added support for bass and treble settings for tv. Now you can customize your bass and treble settings (if your soundcard supports it) both for tv playback and for normal use.
- Added Mute checkbox when in tv/broadcast tv/fm modes (instead of the disabled repeat checkbox). When checked the soundvolume drops to 0 and default treble and bass values are restored.
- Added an option to autoresume playback from last position without user's confirmation if offer auto resume option is checked (Options menu).
- Added Terminate to the Sources menu. This kills the AIW Player process without saving any changes to the registry.
- When another instance of AIW Player is detected at startup, Enhanced Audio Mode (ex Silent Channel Change) feature is disabled.
- Now AIW Player describes what it is doing when starting TV or Broadcasting mode in the statusbar.

Fixed bugs:

- Now AIW Player no longer displays the message "No mixer present" when no sound card is detected.
- When adding files with the playlist editor, the first one is played automatically. This fixed the bug when a file from history was added at the end of the playlist editor and play was pressed.
- Fixed some issues with the imdb communication module.
- Major code optimizations resulting in less memory requirements.
- Created a workaround for the broken playback after changing resolutions (and possible when coming back from hibernation) - no image is displayed but sound keeps going. This is a DirectX shortcoming.
- Possible fix for preventing screensaver or standby to engage.
- Fixed an issue with the playlist seperator (resizing of the playlist was no longer possible).
- Fixed the "stuck" volume tracker that was visible when starting tv mode in compact mode.
- Now send to tray when in Small Window Mode works.
- Fixed some resizing issues with Compact Mode and Small Window Mode.
- Fixed an issue that occurred when opening a video file and tv mode was engaged.
- Fixed an issue that caused the displaying "Playing is not an integer variable" message when unpausing video playback.
- Now AIW Player remembers wether apply deinterlace is checked or not.
- Now AIW Player shows a check on the selected capture card and sound card.
- Fixed an issue with the autoupdate feature.

PS: Try the new broadcasting module. ;)

Like usual, your feedback is always welcomed and appreciated!

- Added Detect Monitors button in Settings - Monitor Selection menu. It is no longer necessary to restart AIW Player if a new monitor has been enabled.
