I am looking for a method of validating divx/xvid files.
Basically, I recently watched an AVI that had some invalid areas in it (discontinuity with bs video). At the volume I was watching, it was physically painful and of course the remote wasn't in my reach. The sound was so loud and strange that it caused horizontal lines of interference on my TV  (verified with mute button).
Anyway, I would like to prevent this from ever happening again, preferably by validating my divx files in a way other than watching them. A command-line script that generates a logfile report would be best, but anything would be good.
Gspot isn't good enough. It says this file is fine. And it is valid in the sense that it plays. But that one invalid part is like peering into hell, it's at least 5 times louder than the actual show...
Thanks:)
