the most reasonable way of converting matroska to avi IS VDM or avimux GUI, guaranteed that there are no codec problems...

then again, why dont you just capture in AVI instead?

avi has not audio with video synchronization.
when i use computer while recording, avi file has big desynchronization.

where in avimux GUI i can to define what part of file to convert??
what is VDM. if it is virtualdubmod, then it is not suited for me, because it makes very long parsing.

Lots of people capture in AVI without synch problems... try VirtualDub, VirtualDub Synch, Virtual VCR... use search, must be a million topics about this issue.

its not really possible.. you could convert the whole file and do the cutting with e.g. virtualdub.

it is, but there really is no way around that. no other programs can really handle these files. uhm... well you could remux with graphedit too of course, but theres no real telling what happens then... its worth a try though. hope its fast enough ;) (you cant cut then either BTW)

as a side note... why not just leave the file in matroska? (uhm... youd still have to recompress it right?)

in the end youve gotta do things with the tools available. :)

try VirtualDub, VirtualDub Synch, Virtual VCR
virtualdub can capture at max 352x288 resolution and it has not
scheduled recording. Virtual VCR i tried, it has desynchronization too. only virtualvcr-matroska has not desynchronization.
why not just leave the file in matroska?
if i captured 15 hours and file is 70 gb big and i want to cut only 20 mins from a midle of file it is not comfortably to wait when virtualdubmod will make very long parsing.

as there is no other way, youll just have to with this. or spend some more time getting your synch right. i think your setting your demands too high.

BTW - VDub can capture at higher resolutions, but i believe this is a limitation of the VFW-wrapper.

It would be good if to find a matroska cutter. first to cut wanted part of file, then open it with virtualdubmod.

you could also wonder if your file wouldnt be finished with parsing right now :p (sorry for a useless post)
