Subtitles don't appear on real DVD player

Hi! I tried adding French subtitles to my Battle Royale DVD. The subtitles show up fine when I play the DVD-R on my computer. However, on my standalone DVD player, none of the subtitles appear at all. What's wrong? :(

Just a guess: you added the subs only for widescreen (16:9) display and you have a regular 4:3 TV. If so, look into subpicture attributes in IfoEdit and compare with other DVD that work properly.
