I’ve tried to search an answer to my problem but haven’t succeeded. Could someone help?

I try to rip a DVD with robot4rip v.0.4 build 1087. For some reason it doesn’t work. If I run DVDDecrypter v. 3.2.3.0 separately from robot4rip I get as a result a .txt-,.ifo- and .vob-files. When I try to do it with robot4rip the process stalls after DVDDecrypter when DVD2AVI v.1.76 is trying to load. I close the DVD2AVI and get an errormessage in the log. So far I get as a result a .txt-,.ifo-,.AC3- and .M2V-files.

The log looks like this.

21:19:15: BEGIN RIP "SPIDERMAN" - 7/28/2004 9:19:15 PM

And so on… The process goes on normally. The problem seems to be

1. DVDDecryters output is .M2V-file instead of .VOB-file.

2. DVD2AVI don't find .d2v-file, which doesn't exist.

But I have no glue what to do with this problem.

I had previously robot4rip 0.5 installed and did some updating of GordianKnot and lost 0.5 version. Don’t know if this has anything to do with it but haven’t been able to rip since.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I remember correctly, an m2v file is generated by dvd2svcd. Check your settings for PGC rip and make sure vstrip is used (and not the so called internal routines). Probably your Robot4Rip settings got screwed somewhere, but why not deinstall GKnot and reinstall the latest version?

I changed the PCG settings and tried with vstrip and dvddecrypter without demuxin and did get now .ifo- and .vob-files. Still the process stops when dvd2avi tries to load the vob-file when indexing. For some reason it doesn't load the vob. I can do it manually and load the vob, start dvd2avi and close it and the prosess goes on. I didn't yet try to install the latest version of GK but it's the next move if there is no new idea. Would also like to solve this propably trivial problem. I tried with DVD2AVI v.1.77 but didn't change the situation. Thank you for help so far anyway.

It sounds like your GKnot setup is messed up. Make sure to deinstall and delete the current GKnot before installing the new one.

btw, I use DVD2AVIdg.exe, version 1.77.3dg1.0.0RC2. Don't know if you are using the same thing.

I've been travelling and managed to get a net connection here. Before I left I had just time to uninstall and reinstall GKnot and test it. It didn't help but still the problem persists. A weird thing. Anyway I appreciate the help so far and try to do installation again when I get back home, but if some further ideas appears, I would be glad to hear them.
