What I like about Vobsub is the addition of these utilities:

The subs ripper
The cutter
The joiner

I can reach those through the command line (or shortcut by the Vobsub installer), for example the cutter:

rundll32.exe vobsub.dll,Cutter

Now, is there an equivalent command line for VSFilter?

Those are now seperate aplications, look for VSRip and VSConv.

Thanks.

I decided to keep all the Vobsub additions execpt DirectVobsub, so I only unregistered the "DVobsob.ax" component, works fine.

For ripper we have VSRip, and VSConv to convert subs, but how to cut and/or join with these new utilities?

So is it possible to cut/join with VSRip/VSConv or do we still need the old VobSub.dll for that? Anyone?

the VSFilter.DLL provides no functions that sound like they would launch a cutter or joiner. Only for the direct show and avisynth filters.
The popup whrn you doubleclick vsconf.exe hints at no such functionality neither and vsrip.exe's 3-step wizard user interface also really doeant look like you could lauch something like this anywhere.

But since there is a complete lack of documentation coming with these and i never really cared about handling sub/idx except from getting the subs out of them, i cannot really say "i know there is no such thing". It could be there but then it's damn well hidden.

:) Thanks for sharing that :) Well, really seems we just have to keep the utils from the old VobSub package...
