Hello all,

I ripped a pal movie with DVD2SVCD, everything is fine; works fine on the pc with PowerDVD & with a standalone DVD player.
But when I send the movie with my Hollywood Plus (drivers v2.2 Beta ) to my TV there is a problem on the lower zone of the screen, where you have the sub titles, it keep trembling.

If someone has any idee I would be glad to heat it because I am loosing my hair :o

Thanks,

WisdoM

What kind of subtitles are you using?

These is not a DVD2SVCD problem, look somewhere else, maybe the drivers in the hollywood card (beta hmmmm..)

I use permanante subtitles.
I forgot to say that its not the subtitles that are trambling but all the lower zone even if i don't use subtitles.

Yes maybe you are rigth but maybe not it may come from an DVD2SVCD option.

My Hollywood Plus works fine with all stuff i have tried VCD,SVCD,MPEG1,MPEG2,DVD but not with my rips so ... ;)

In what position you put your subtitles, original or what?

Maybe they are to low for your TV.

The option I choise was in the subtitles tab, permanent subtitles and the rest is like default. I don't think its the subtitles because firt I see them correctly and second the trembling is happening also when I don't use subtitle.

I've got the same problems playing SVCDs on TV using the Hollywood Plus (lower part of the video is 'shaking' somehow). This also happens to VCDs I make but DVDs (RC 2) play fine.

I don't use any subtitles in my SVCD-Rips, so I don't think that's the point.

I also experience the same problem with the tv. I never use subtitles. I'm using the same version of the drivers for my card. Looks to me as if the drivers may have a small problem. Have you tried earlier drivers ???

No, always used the 2.2 beta drivers. (got the card from a friend) :D
What really annoys me is that the 'stuttering' is only viewable in the lower part of the tv.
I think that if the Hollywood Plus isn't able to play SVCDs correctly, it should have the same problem with DVDs.

I tried permanent subtitles. Plays perfect under WinDVD. On my TV half of the subtitles were cut off. My TV was the culprit as it isn't display 100% of the screen. That's ok should get a new TV soon hopefully.

I found out the solution of my problem and I just wanted to share it...
Some days ago i dowloaded the new driver Release 2.3 beta.
This is a part of the readme.txt ...

WHAT'S NEW IN RELEASE 2.3
=========================
- Fix for flickering in the lower half of PAL TVs.

So as you can see it was a bug of the driver.
I hoppe you will be as glad as I was when i saw that :)
