horrid problem with subtitles synch (SubRip)

well, i've just got a dvd-r and all i'm trying to do is add subs to it, so i'm trying to re-author it using DVD-Maestro and i'm having a huge problem with re-synching the subs
tried using SubRip and export to any format (.son,.idx,.sub,.srt) but i'm having huge synch problem...when loading the vobs, SubRip detects it as 30fps (while NTSC is 29.970 if i'm correct) and to whatever format i convert (sub,srt, stl, son with bitmaps) i get an annoying synch issue (losing about 2 secs every 30 minutes or so, also tried ticking the "drop frame" and playing with frame rate, no go). tried also tools like "subtitles workshop" or "subrip fps converter" but can't since it doesn't seem like such a problem.
i've been having this problem for quite some time but with other releases i've managed to find synched and good subs online so it was no problem...with this one i can't find any, so getting them from the DVD is necessary.

so if you have any advice or know any way i could bypass it i'll be glad to hear
my favorable format is son with bitmaps (to work good with dvd-maestro)...but i'm willing to hear anything ,including new ways of adding subs to NTSC DVD-R5 (tried the guide here but had problems with ReJig not reauthering properly, subs synch probs etc.)

Use time stretch/speed adjust in subrip. It's the little clock icon :) OR edit,timing, adjust in sub workshop.

As for editing the framerate, personally I always do it with subtitle workshop, input fps,speaks for itself , it's the framerate the subtitles you load have, then set the output fps you want (FPS)but dont forget to save the file as.

ha well, sorry about that...eventually solved this issue
to whoever is interested, the problem was, since it's NTSC, was drop frame issue...now i couldn't find a subtitles ripper who managed to ignore the drop fram and rip them as they are...so eventually i had to use pulldown to set the movie into drop frame...then everything was perfectly in synch

1st time I'm running Maestro and using subtitles. I've read the threads on this forum regrding this issue, however, I'm not sure what to do.

I'm Using Subrip 1.17.1, the header says "tape type drop" but I still loose synch as the film progresses. There is the option for time stretch/speed adjust, but what values should I use?
