With DVD Rebuilders main aim of making easy, simple, encoding using CCE in mind, I was wondering if there was any chance that a version of DVD Rebuilder with CCE included in the set-up could be released?
I have never managed to get DVD ReBuilder to work, I have tried countless times to install and re-install both Rebuilder and CCE but without any success and from the threads I can see that I am not alone.
I think that by including the trial version of CCE within a set-up with DVD Rebuilder would be extremely helpful to all us newbies. It would also allow for all the settings to be set automatically with the trial version of CCE in mind.
Obviously a verson of DVD Rebuilder without CCE could see be available for download so that you more advance guys who don't want CCE Trial don't have to download it.
I hope you will agree with me that this would be very helpful.

If you have problems installing and configuring CCE and DVDRb I just can't understand what you will do with other configuring options of backing up the DVD.
On the other hand with nearly every week having just another build of DVDrb you should have guessed the bandwidth traffic here in this forum and add another 1.5 MBs to every DVDRb download with every build.

CCE would bring copyright issues I'm sure, but what about QuEnc...
it wouldn't hurt to include a fully operational version once RB comes out of the beta's

Including CCE with DVD-RB will never happen.
Unless jdobbs wants to face legal resistance, which I'm sure he would not.
Even if jdobbs were to include CCE with DVD-RB, the setup program for CCE will be unchanged (he definitely can't be changing their program). All this combined package would do would be to run the CCE setup and then just extract the single-file DVD-RB.EXE. So combining them will make no difference in ease of installation or improve compatability.

The point I feel was made quite clearly. If you read the threads a lot of people like myself have had problems getting DVDRebuilder to run.
Making DVDrebuilder one complete package (including "QuEnc" if CCE is a problem) would reduce the installation problems. I know that some of you have had effortless installs and I myself have followed the installation instructions to the letter, but am still unable to get it to run successfully.
As the aim of DVDrebuilder is to be an easy, simple, method of backing up DVD's then making the package complete and 'ready to use' would be ideal. Rather then have to download a couple of seperate programs.
If you have not had any problems with running DVDrebuilder then that is great but for us who have then I feel it would be of huge benefit.

Top_Cat, what problems have you had with DVDRB? I just started using it and seems to be working great, I had an issue but it was due to another software package (re-authoring). Maybe if you just let us know exactly what the problem is I'm sure someone here can help.

just a quote...
DVD ReBuilder: Installation, Setup, and Usage (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=74308)
INSTALLATION:
1. Download and install AVISYNTH. At the time of this writing the most current version was v2.54 which has been tested and is completely compatible with DVD-RB.
2. Download and install DVD Decrypter. At the time of this writing the current version was 3.2.1.0 and it has been tested and works great with DVD-RB.
3. Next, you must have a copy of MPEG2DEC3DG.DLL installed on your computer. At the time of this writing it is contained in a ZIP file DECODEFIX100.ZIP, in the AviSynth plugin list, linked above. Extract that file into a directory called "plugins" under the AVISYNTH directory (created in step 1). Usually it is "C:\Program Files\AviSynth 2.5\plugins\".
4. Install one of the encoders listed above. CCE is recommended for highest quality. If you are using a trial version of CCE or CCE 2.5 you will need to install and setup ECLCCE. It is easy to setup, just extract the ECLCCE.zip into your CCE directory and run EclCCE.exe. It will ask you to find your CCE executable, do so. CCE should start, close it.
5. Install DVD-RB. All you need to do is create a directory somewhere (possibly in C:\Program Files\DVD-RIP) and copy Rebuilder.exe into that folder. You may also want to create a shortcut on your desktop.
SETUP:
1. Run DVD-RB.
2. Click on "Options" on the menu bar and then "Setup".
3. Set the path to the encoder(s) you plan on using. If you are using ECLCCE you must select the "EclCCE.exe" executable, NOT the CCExxx.exe executable.
4. If you placed MPEG2DEC3DG.DLL in your plugin directory you shouldn't have to set it here. However, if you don't want it to auto load for some reason, or are encountering script errors, you can define it here and force DVD-RB to explicitly define it in your scripts.
5. If you plan on using the deinterlace setting you will need to provide the path to decomb*.dll. Just download the .ZIP file from the link above and extract the .dll anywhere you want. Then set the path here.
6. You can also set the default for audio streams you like to keep/delete in you processing. CHECKING an language here will REMOVE it by default. You can also have DTS streams removed by default, regardless of language.
7. Click Done to go back to DVD-RB's main window.
8. Click on "Mode" on the menu bar and select your encoding method. If you are using CCE, also click "Options" from the menu bar and under CCE->, select the version of CCE you are using.
if these steps are too hard to understand than noone can help you...
have a nice day
cheers Sill

sillKotscha: you are not very helpful are you!! I have explained quite clearly (maybe you don't understand English) that I have been through the installation a number of times but am still having problems *AS ARE OTHER PEOPLE!* Obviously this could be a problem with other applications installed on my system, as Rasta has clearly said, but making the package complete and 'ready to use' would help a lot of people.
PS. If you are going to post comments like 'sillKotscha' then please don't. I have understood the point but this does not help!
