is there a player that has keys to jump 10/30/60 seconds back/fwd and let me customize the keys? That kind of navigation is necessary for the kind of my media I have and how I deal with it most efficiently. Fiddling with config files, key codes and strange scripting formats is practically worthless for me, scripting solutions are implemented badly most of the time anyway. A player without such navigation features is a little bit like a car without gears to me (and with no automatic :). I've only a dial up so I don't want to download and test all the players which usually are rather large packages and disappoint anyway most of time and even mess up my system, install shell extensions withou even asking etc.

Media Player Classic by Gabest can do this.

Under File->Options->Player->Keys look for the Jump (small/medium/large) and Options->Tweaks.

thanks, I'll give those a try, actually I have MPC already but so far used it only for watching DVD's what I do rarely direct. They share another great feature, they are open source. :)

What's the reason for an alternative to ZP if ZP has all the features you realy like & need?

There is no other way to customize the keys in ZP, it's *very* hard to use compared to the conventional method the other players use, don't work and there ain't support. I've tried to have the enter key fullscreen but Blight couldn't help me with that when I remember right. Why do I need the enter key instead of Z? In my media applications I'm using this key and I got it mixed up all the time so I can't get used to it, that's very annoying. There are more things I don't like about it like it's not open source or showed up a lot nag forms lately (I think everytime another format is used). Most likely I'm gonna have to use different players depending on what media I have. There are so many players that have potential, but none that does it all. I want also give TCMP a try and RadLight, having a modular architecture sounds appealing to me. What's also important is if there's a problem that I can do something like asking the developer to work on it, making a patch or plugin myself so probably best idea I examine open source solutions first.
