I'm trying to feed the fast and the furious into RB and it comes back after the prepare bit with a dialog that says

"There is nothing to do!
DVD-RB couln't locate appropriate files in working directory! You must PREPARE and ENCODE first."

i'm confused.. The is the second movie i tried and the second one that failed ;-) First was "What women want ~7 gigs" and I think from memory the audio was out of sync with video, I ended up backing that up with DVD2DVD-R

Maybe because i've told it to steal space from extras?. Is there a way to encode main movie here and use shrink on extras or something?.

The " - Creating M2V for VTS_01 segment N" lines finish in < 1 second each so I think its not encoding anything?.

Here is the log (i did copy to clipboard) for THIS movie. I didn't abort (like last line said) I clicked OK on the nothing to do dialog.

Do you want any other log files?

That's a problem. It's not actually doing the encoding.

Probably there is something wrong with your setup. What version of CCE are you using, number and type (SP, BASIC, TRIAL)? Are you using EclCCE? Is the Version you have setup in the the right selection box in the SETUP page and is that version selected in the Options->CCE sub-menu?

I've tried with CC 2.50SP and 2.67 and also with Rejig, same issue. I'm currently uploading the work files D2AVS folder to my webspace as well as a screen grab of the main window (with dialog pop up) so you can see the issue in context.

Will report back (< 1 mins) when done.

I think i got CCE path right etc as its not saying there is an issue, but i could be wrong. It also DID encode the other movie, but sync was all messed up (delay wrong?); so encoder path is right?.

edit:
Above url updaed with grab of setup window too.

I guess your cce-paths are not right, at least for CCE SP 2.6x, cause you need them to point to eclcce.exe.

wow thats right!, i just pointed to ECCL thing for 2.6 and tried an encode and its encoding.

seems you MUST use ECCL and not CCE directly.

I'll let you know how it gets once once encode is done, though still unsure why cant use CCE directly

You must use EclCCE for 2.5 because that version does not support commandline execution (which is what DVD-RB uses). EclCCE gives it that ability.

You must use EclCCE for ANY TRIAL VERSION because one of the trial limitations is that they do not read .ecl files. EclCCE gives them that ability, that is EclCCE's original purpose.

AHA!...well thanks for the info guys!...maybe RB could have some newbie check that ensures if version = 2.5 then .exe is eccl.exe it should be able to check the process id or some other check?. Also, encoding a whole disc < 1 min is a clue it didn't work?.

People like me need to be protected from ourselves! ;-)))

slaps forehead ... its also in the FAQ. Just there was no error as such so I thought it was ok with CCE; kinda threw me off track.

Thanks again
