I just recently got a 20" NEC Multisync flatpanel monitor. It's very nice (but of course, not the best for viewing movies). Nevertheless, I do watch movies on it, and I noticed something recently that seemed odd to me.
The native/optimal resolution of the monitor is 1600x1200, so I leave it at this setting. Yet this also means that watching a movie at fullscreen requires a much larger percentage of resizing than at a screen resolution of 1280x1024, for example. However the strange thing is that I can barely notice any difference in quality while watching a fullscreen movie at either of these resolutions.
It just amazes me that Media Player Classic's resize quality is so good that I can't see much difference between very different screen resolutions. Is this generally always true with other video encodes played in MPC?
