i bought csi season 2 in the netherland, but it anoys me there is forced subs on the dvd (not printet in the picture), i thought i could remove them whit using dvdrebuilder to make an backup, but unfortenly no, the netherland subs ain't in the list to remove in the proggie, so my question is, are there another way to turn them off whitout having to make a new reencoding ?

Load the DVD in PgcEdit, then right-click on the title's PGC in the left pane, and select "Domain Streams Attributes".
Locate the forced subpic, and change the type to whatever you want.
If it is really a forced subpic, it should work.

If not, try to locate a SetSTN command in the title PGC, or in the menu domain of the same VTS, and uncheck the subpic ON checkbox.

You may also want to clear the Prohibited User Operations / Subpicture Stream Change. Double click on your Title PGC to open the PGC editor, and see the Prohibited User Operations button...

Good luck...

Wow! I've seen tons of posts asking how to get forced subs to work... never thought I'd see one asking how to get rid of 'em! ;)

If it were me, I'd just load the project into DVD Shrink, select No Compression, and remove the subs from there. Unless you're pressed for hard drive space, the only thing you're losing is perhaps fifteen minutes -- twenty minutes, tops. Then delete your original, and do what you want with the newly-stripped 'Shrink copy; it'll feed into Rebuilder just fine. If you've already used Rebuilder, then THAT will load into DVD Shrink just as well.

(I know this isn't a 'Shrink thread... but a tool's a tool! :) )
