I keep getting blocks in my encodes whenever i use a xvid file as the source everything works fine when using a divx file as the source help i'm very

There are filters to deal with blocks but most likely you are useing to low of a bitrate. Btw try not to convert from one lossy codec to another it just makes a sure loss of quaitly and can cause alot of trouble. Try converting to huffy and see how that works. You can also try xvid at very high bitrates.

well i'm getting not the blocks u get from low bitrates but huge blocks which i get even if i encode with a high bitrate anyway here's are some of the settings i'm using with ERMP
Encoding a anime ep
Avg bitrate 550kbps
Max bitrate 1150kbps
He-Acc 64kbs
New Bitrate Control Default
EHQ High
B-Frames 3

If anyone has any settings they recommend please let me know because with those settings i get huge blocks encoding xvid videos.

i forgot to metion that the in loop filter is enabled at the default cut off quant 9 should i enable cutoffcompatiable and cutoffbuserefquant cause i have no idea what these do also should psnr be enabled when encoding anime:confused:
