Hi,

Up until recently I've used Gordian Knot to produce my DivX movies. Now I'm trying AutoGK. I've noticed however that the whole process is much faster with AutoGK than with GKnot. In GKnot I've enabled the following DivX options:
*Use Quarter Pixel
*Use GMC
*Use Bidirectional Encoding
I suppose that AutoGK finishes faster because those options are off.
Are those options enabled in AutoGK? If not, is there a way to enable them? I've read somewhere that with those options turned on, you get better quality.

Thanks in advance,

John

Both qpel and GMC are disabled when you use autogk, as many of the current stand alone players have problems with these features. If you want to fiddle with the codec settings used by AutoGK you can use a small application called AutoGK Tweaker - more info about it can be found here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=79227). I wouldn't recommend doing it unless you know something about avs scripting though. Also you could easily do more harm than good as you are chainging the basis AutoGK makes its choises on when changing the settings.

Whether or not you get better quality from enabling qpel and/or GMC is very source dependent, so the best you can do is trying with some small test samples in regular Gknot and decide for yourself if these features are worth the extra encoding time, and if you find that you prefer using GMC and qpel it would imho be better to encode your movies using regular Gknot.
