Can I Record Ntsc Vhs Tape With A Dvd Recorder >??

Hi!! ok my main aim over the last few days was to make a copy of a VHS tape that I bought from the USA in NTSC fomat.

I have loads of problems using my TV capture card as I every way I tried to set up my VCR to my PVR-250 the picture was all ways black and white.

After writing a few posts the information I have learned is that my PAL/NTSC VCR player doesnt play pure NTSC signal plays something called PAL 60 >> and the only way I could record it from VCR was to buy a Pure one from the USA. (?)

Any way I have just orderd a Lite on DVD player recorder, do you think I will now be able to copy this NTSC VHS tape >???? or have I just waisted my money >???.


At this moment in time My VCR plays the NTSC VHS tape no problems on my TV, so I am hopeing that my DVD recorder can fit in the middle and record from the TV >>>>>> is this possible.

Any way any info you can give me is most apreciated!!

It depends on a particular model of VCR, DVD recorder, and TV. Moreover, it also depends on what country you bought it in. If you do some research, you should be able to buy the right equipment. Perhaps, you'll have to start with a new VCR although you certainly don't have to buy it from USA.

Seems like a lot of trouble and expense for just one tape though.

My phlips standalonerecorder works very well with NTSC stuff.
But most of the original US NTSC tapes are protected with macrovision so it doesn`t work for me....
