Hi,
does anyone remember 'Privateer 2 - The Darkening' from 1996?
I loved this Game! It was delivered on 3 CDs and contained loads of movie-scenes! Actually it had a real 'film-story' - and the story was brilliant! The actors in Privateer 2 are:
Clive Owen, Christopher Walken, John Hurt, Mathilda May, Juergen Prochnow,...
Here are some captures from the movie-scenes: Privateer 2 (http://www.murphsplace.com/owen/tv/privateer.html)
Yesterday i came to the idea if it's possible to get the movies out of the game (and converted to a playable format)! All movie files reside as .tgv files on the CDs.
o.k. it could well be that this is a completely proprietary format, so no chance getting them out! But it could also be that the movies are just mpeg1 or they are stored in an old - but standardized codec-format, packed into a proprietary 'container'.
I tried analyzing it with GSpot, open it in VirtualDub, even tried to send it through 'Project X' in the hope that it can find some mpeg streams to demultixplex.
But nothing worked.
Now i hope to find someone interested here who can help me!
Here is a small video (640kb): INTEL_S.TGV (http://home.graffiti.net/hansahansb:graffiti.net/INTEL_S.TGV)
