hello everybody,

i'm capturing analogue video from VHS using VirtualVCR
everything seems to be ok except audio level - it is ALWAYS distorted, even if I turn the input level to the minimum (value 1 in VirtualVCR).
The audio connection is correct, i suppose: i'm connecting the VCR directly to the line-in of my soundblaster (pic 128 live) using two chinches-minijack cable.

i've tried other capturing software, i have even changed the audio card - the problem hasn't gone away

what can I try to do else? do you have any ideas?

This seems to be a problem with soundblaster cards having too low of an input impedance. To add to the problem is, which mixer level panel to use. Always use the one that the aux input sider has effect.

The solution is simple. Add a hardware EQ between the source and the sound card. You can find these cheap at Goodwill stores.
