Is there a utility programs that allows you to change which video/audio codecs are used when playing video files? It seems that everytime I install a conversion program (i.e. Cucusoft AviToVcd, etc.), the video and/or audio codecs get changed and half my mpg files stop playing correctly in Media Player. Specifically, the video plays extremely slow while the audio plays fine.

Welcome to the forum!

Here's a link to an app called VCSwap (http://members.chello.nl/~p.bekke), the info on it claims that you can swap codecs on-the-fly while editing, but I have no idea if it can be appled to playback software. Check it out and let us know if it works out. This Website was last updated in 2002, so I wouldn't get my hopes up too high. ;)

you could try the Radlight filter manager (http://www.radlight.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=355) which works very well. You can assign higher merits to certain codecs, so they get used in priority over others.
