View Full Version : Error: File is not a valid d2v project (after reinstall of GK)

I have thus far been unable to get DiVX 5.1.1 encodes to work under WinXP Pro SP2 RC2, in fact the DiVX Pro Decoder Config Utility window won't even open, so I'm attributing this to a windows bug and had decided to play with XviD for awhile until it gets resolved or SP2 comes out of beta. (They still play back fine, however trying to encode with Gknot or AutoGK leads to immediate failure, I can post the logs if anybody is interested once the following problem is resolved)

I uninstalled Gknot and reinstalled version .28.8 (I also tried the .29 and .31) and now for some reason, it gives the error "not a valid .d2v project" for any of the .d2v's I have ripped. These previously were all working even after the SP2 RC2 install before I reinstalled Gknot.

I'm sure this is probably some simple obvious thing that I'm overlooking, and if that's the case feel free to make fun of me.

EDIT: I'm using Robot4rip to rip/demux.

make sure you're using the same mpeg2dec3/dgdecode that comes with dvd2avidg/dgindex (both r4r and gk settings whould be similar)

That worked, thanks!

I just made a copy of DGDecode.dll and renamed it to MPEG2Dec3.dll and put it in my avisynthplugins folder. Will this pose any problems in the future?

GKnot didn't like it when I used the mpeg2dec3.dll v1.10, but when I used dgdecode.dll as mpeg2dec3.dll, GKnot worked dandy...for now.

u don't have to rename the dll-s, you'll end up in confusion...:D
GK has in the "option" tab the posibility to specify another plugin to decode d2v-s. Just write in there "dgdecode.dll" and put it in your avisynthplugins folder
isn't it better...
