vobsub configure can't see subtitle stream

i've ripped a dvd to disk but can't extract the .idx and .sub using vobsub configure. this dvd definitely has a subtitle stream, they are not embedded in the video (0x20 - Subtitle - [SubPicture 01: Normal] / LBA: 26923 / PTS: 00:01:21.027 / Delay: 80680ms) according to dvddecrypter. i tried enabling stream processing in dvddecrypter and just extracting the sub stream, this gets a 20 meg .vob but vobsub still won't see the subs, the box where you usually select a language stays empty.

i have checked in each angle
subrip ocr works as last resort, but i would prefer an .idx and .rar

I think this sub is bmp spec,vobsub cant read.
there are some tools can convert bmp sub to plain text,
but I dont remember,sorry.

Have you tried re-ripping the whole lot, without stream processing enabled? and then extract the subs. You might get better results this way :)

edit:hhmm you say vobsub still won't see the subs... ignore the above then, it seems you've done that in the first place. Will think later ;)
