i'm about to rip a dvd using autogk but the dvd has 7 subs which i want to rip what could i use to get all 7 subs ?

edit: I've just received an error from dvd decrypter saying I/O error, Scsi status 0x02 translation: check condition, does this refer to the dvd or my dvd rom ? and is there any other way i could try to rip it ?

thanks

I don't think autoGK supports 7 subs :)
You have several choices here, but none of them will work in a standalone player (so long as you know)
-You can rip them as an idx/sub combination in vobsub, where the 7 subs will be in one file. Go to start>menu>vobsub>vobsub configure, click open, and change the drop down files of type to vobs and ifo...browse to the folder where your vobs are, and select the IFO file. You will get a list of languages, pick all the languages you want and put them in the top right box(don't touch the rest). Click ok, and let it rip the subs..that takes a little while, so no panic. Now you can leave them separate and play them back with directvobsub on autoload, provided the sub files have the same name and are in the same place as the movie. (You do need both files, the idx and the sub one, they don't work separately.) That's the easiest way.

-If you want your subs "inside" so to speak of the movie(soft subs, or muxed subs), you can mux them with mkvmerge, part of mkvtoolnix (free), to a matroska file. You will need the matroska pack to play back the file though, and vobsub. All you have to do is drag and drop the avi file, and the idx file, set up a few comments and press ok)

-If you want them muxed in an avi file, you need to convert the subs to text, like srt or ssa for example..srt is the most common. The easiest way IMO is to get subrip (free) and load the IFO file or the idx file in it and convert the subs one by one..it's quite easy though a bit long, since you need to authenticate the letters for subrip to convert to text...you will then end with 7 srt files, which you can mux into avi with avimuxGUI (free) (it's very easy to use, same story drag and drop and press start) You will still need vobsub to be able to see the subs though (except i think with bsplayer)

To access any of those subs, right click on the green arrow in the tray while the file is playing
I hope that answers your question :)
Oh, and you may check all the subtitle guides at http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/subtitle_guides.htm, where no doubt you could have got the answer

The I/O error is bad news, it's your dvd-rom at fault. You can try simply rebooting and checking your cables for a start :)

The I/O error with DVDDecrypter is usually due to an unreadable disc, or one that's poorly authored, so hopefully, the problem doesn't lie with a faulty drive.

Here's a link to a Decrypting Forum search return using I/O error (http://forum.doom9.org/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=607387&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending&pagenumber=2) as the search argument; poke around in there and see what you make of it....and of the condition of the disc you're trying to rip.
