I'm having a weird problem. I have set up 4 tracks and a menu using TMPGEnc DVD Authoring. The bar at the bottom says it's only 4086MB out of 4438MB. There is still a chunk of white space left in the bar. I have burned it onto a DVD+RW (4.7GB from Legacy) and all of them plays fine. However, when I burn it onto a DVD-R, the last track cannot load. The other three tracks and menu plays excellent but when I select the last track, it doesn't load. Why is this? I have double-checked in TDA and everything is fine. The M2V plays fine on the computer as well. The brand of DVD-R I'm using is unknown because it's generic, there is no brand name or disc capacity listed anywhere.

I tried loading my VOBs in DVD Shrink and all of the tracks plays fine, even the last one. So I know it is not TDA's problem but a disc problem. Could it be that the generic DVD-Rs have a smaller capacity then the usual 4.7? But then again, I've burned many DVDs using the generic kind that takes even more space than this one and they all work fine.

I tried burning another project to DVD, this time it has 3 tracks. The last track played fine until a few minutes to the end where it just freezes and then returns to the menu. It's either the disc's fault or the DVD burner's fault. Is there a way to check if the DVD-Rs I have are corrupted? :( I've wasted about 3 DVD-Rs and it still won't work. I've never encountered a problem like this before with these DVD-Rs. It used to work fine.

The brand of DVD-R I'm using is unknown because it's generic, there is no brand name or disc capacity listed anywhere. So you are using crap discs and wonder why they don't work? What you see is a typical Princo effect.
Is there a way to check if the DVD-Rs I have are corrupted? Yes. Try better discs and see if the problem persists.

I don't consider them crappy (even if there are unsmooth edges) because the crappy discs has all worked in the past. But it's just this one that is not working. I burned one disc using Nero and it worked thankfully. However, when I burn the one with the last track that doesn't work with Nero, it still won't work. The last track is only 1 minute and 30 seconds long. Could that be the problem?

What DVD-Rs would you recommend that works well and is cheap? I have to wonder why DVD-Rs are so much more expensive than CD-Rs. :(

For example Verbatim 4x DVD-R are available at about 1,40 Euro per disc, which is pretty cheap for non-crap discs.

Your discs are most likely crappy, because having trouble to seek is a typical crap disc problem
