Hidden files explanation

It would be great if someone could explain the functions of all the hidden files. What they do and when they are needed, and stuff like that. For example : What's the difference between .kerneldeint 10 and 50 ?

Are the hidden files limited to Xvid ? I tried to use the .credits file with DivX the other day, and it didn't work. (It didn't show up in the log either)

if you don't know what they do then you don't need to use them. but if you want to know more:

- read the tutorial
- read doc folder in filters folder of autogk
- search the forum

The reason they are hidden is exactly to avoid questions like "what do they do?".

Sorry, didn't mean to be a bother....just wanted to learn a bit more. I don't want to be a newbie all my life you know :)
I will check the tutorial and the forum. Keep up the good work...
