View Full Version : DGDecode still gives inconsistent random access

When seeking around in vdub I see different things for a given frame depending on whether I seek directly to that frame, seek a few frames before it and then frame-by-frame forward to it, and when I seek a few frames after it and then frame-by-frame backwards to it. Sometimes a scene change occurs on that frame, and sometimes it occurs on a frame before it (and occasionally when I was using DVD2AVI 1.76 it occured on the frame after it).

What should I do? How can I find out what frame the scene change REALLY occurs on, and how do I know whether or not my calls to Trim are cutting on the frames that I want them to (since they're doing random access on the first frame in the range)?

Are you using the latest version (1.0.12a) of DGMPGDec (http://neuron2.net/fixd2v/dgmpgdec1012a.zip)?

If so, please provide examples and Don will fix that right up. Also, please post them in the DVD2AVI forum. Thanks.

Yes I'm already using that version. Also, I should add that Avisynth's cache plus Decimate makes things even more confusing.

I don't have anywhere to put up a vob segment. The seeking problem seems to occur on a large number of scene changes.
