"Error decoding mpeg audio frame 47515 (20:41): incomplete frame"
while using Virtual Dub. I followed step by step the guide from converting VCD into avi (but I guess changed some parts like the bitrate of sound which Virtual Dub has no 128kbps available- how do I also fix this?) How do I fix this?
Also I was wondering why is the unfinished video file still big - it's only half the size of the original. I know this because I have files of Love Hina avis that are (I think) originally are VCDs converted into avis and they are 1/4 the size. Please Help!

corrupted frame in your vcd...

audio problem: maybe you want to encode the audio with 2lame in besweet seperately!

this is caused by the bitrate setting. lower the bitrate you set in the codec settings and you'll end up with a smaller file size!

cheers

How will I do that? What is 2lame and besweet? huh?

What bitrate do you suggest?

please read up... www.doom9.org !!

What bitrate do you suggest?

depends totally on the length of your movie, the desired filesize in the end, etc, etc

Doom9's step by step guide was published in January 2002. It recommends DivX 4 (which was supplanted by DivX 5 later that year) or DivX 3, and bitrates at 500 kbps or below.

What did you use as your bitrate setting?

It also recommends setting the "Fix MPEG Errors" flag in VCDGear. If you missed that step, that may be the cause of your error.

Was that flag set when you converted from .DAT to .MPG format?

Ah ok. Found the kbps part.
Yes the flag was set. I redone the conversion of .MPG to .MPG using VCDGear again just in case, but I still get the same error. How will I fix it?
