Hi. Trying to save an Xvid to Avi Without the sound but getting an instant Stream Line Error in TEMPGEnc 2.50 . Did read that this could be due to the .mp3-sound inside the videofile that TEMPGENc don't like but since i'm trying to just extract the Video without the sound, i'm confused! My Gear:
P4 2.8 GHZ/ASUS P4 C800 MB/1GB RAM/ 1 S-ATA 80GB hdd - 1 Western Digital U-ATA hdd./NEC 1300A-DVD burner/Win XP Pro
Any hints?
Thx

try virtualdubmod for the job... it actually should be suited a lot better!
just load the avi in virtualdubmod,
go to streams, delete the audio stream and make a direct stream copy of the movie! voilą your video without sound ;)

in vdubmod after loading the avi
click streams > stream list
select the audio stream (pobably the only one present) and hit delete

Thx for your fast reply! I might have another version of VDubMod(1.5.10) than that one you refer to beacause i don't have a "DELETE"-button.
Only see a "DISABLE"-button, but it's the same function right? Did try it and ended up with a HUGHE(over 4GB)..lol .AVI without sound. A bit jerky though, a problem that didn't occurred when trying in TEMPGENc, so i think my codecs are OK or..?

In addition, make sure to set Video to Direct Stream Copy. Should only take a minute or so.

Ok, i did that:)But since i believe the new AVI is a bit jerky, what Codec shall i use when i save the Direct Stream Copy? One can choose a lot of different ones from a dropdownlist in the Save-Window
Thx

ok... first off, get the latest version of virtualdubmod - 1.5.10.1 - then delete the stream as shown in the screenshot shown in the attachment, afterwards, when saving the avi, make sure to set the video mode to 'direct stream copy'...
this should fix your size problem too!
