View Full Version : Don't be restricted to IFO mode of DVDDecrypter for AGK work.

There are DVDs that the DVDDecrypter can't rip in IFO mode (I came accross one such recently: some new copy-protection scheme?); so use the FILE mode, use the .ifo and the StreamInfo files generated by DVDDecrypter in IFO mode (even if it can't transfer the VOBs into the Hard Disk) in the same destnation folder, and turn AGK loose on them. AGK will make mincemeat of this (and so will GK).

You can probably write a fake Stream Information file yourself to feed AGK, and can just copy the .ifo from the DVD, to use with the ripped VOBs in the FILE mode of DVDDecrypter....

Regards.

Yeah! It is a pitty! I got the AutoGK 1.25 and everything was fine, except a bug... then I got the update to 1.44, and after that, I could not make the encoding any more. I don't use DVD Decrypter, I use SmartRipper or DVD Shrink.
I went back to the 1.25 version.
Greetings!

Pitty! I do not want to generate discussion about it, the developer of AutoGK has his own reasons, whatever they are, good or not.
I find the tool incredible good.
One very important thing: To say: "P.P.S I feel like I said quite enough, so to avoid future discussions on the subjects - threads will be closed immediately." is, for me, against any democratic opinion, and a FORUM as well as I know, is democratic: Giving opinions and helping with all the respect include.
Nothing else.

Well, I agree its not completely democratic, but neither is the forum itself. You can get stricked for not searching the forum before posting, crossposting etc. And that all limits your freedom of speech... But there is a big difference between posts that ukb007 did and posts like "Why is it not supported?" "Can you please support it again?" (all variants of those will be closed indeed - I'm tired of discussions. its sort of my right of not answering...)

len0x:

No worries! If everybody is going to be stricked for crossposting, let me tell you that more than 75% of this forum is going to be out.
I realize inmediatelly, when I red your first lines about that problem, that you are and were tired of discussion... and that, I can very easily understand, but you know better than me, that's not a reason to stricke somebody, just for an opinion.
Whatever, I've changed already and up now, I'm going to use DVD Decrypter :D
Your tool is very good!!
Greetings!

EDIT: Auto GK 1.25: I had a funny problem with the subtitles. The original DVD has 4 languages: "English, Italiano, Espanol, Deutsch", I've selected "Espanol" in Subtitle tracks and after encoding I've got Italians subs... I had to select "Deutsch" in order to have the spanish ones... Is that a bug from version 1.25?

I never said I'm gonna strike anyone. Closing such threads is like closing crossposts...

If you didn't use DVDDecrypter on that source then I can't guarantee correctness (that why IFO parsing code was removed). You just discovered the main reason behind most of the problems ppl have when not using DVDDecrypter.

Thanks len0x!!
One last question, If I make a DVD back up using DVD Decrypter and then DVD shrink or Nero Recode, in order to put the film into a DVD-5. Can I use that back up as a source for AutoGK without problems?
I would apreciate your help.
Thanks! :)

You make a DVD-5 from a DVD-9. So you now have a DVD in your hand. You use it the same was as any other DVD: Rip with DVDDecrypter, Feed to AGK, Burn the .avi with whatever burning tool you use.
