I have used the doom9 guides to encode my xvids with GKnot and it always gave excelent results.
But now I need some help:
I'm encoding The Lord of the Ring with AC3 audio. It's a long movie(2h30min), so I believe that it will need 3cds to get good quality.
In the guides we find Bits/Pixel values (Output resolution) for 1 and 2 cds encoding.
What values should I use in this case?

B/P*F values are only a starting point to set your initial resolution and/or bitrate estimations prior to your very first compressibility test.

Once you've done a compressibility test, you should ignore B/P*F values and use the capacity percentages returned by the test(s).
