DVD with subtitles to avi

How will I encode a DVD into an avi file and encode it with subtitles? Thanks

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

I would spend some time at Doom9's main website, reading through the sections labelled "The Basics" and "Guides."

You will find lots of helpful information there, including step by step guides for all sorts of things, such as converting DVDs to other formats. Here, for example, is one of his many step by step guide for converting DVDs to .avi files. This example uses the XviD codec, and using a toolset called Auto Gordian Knot. That software toolset comes with its own tutorial, as well.

I get this error : EXCEPTION: Audio and overhead size is more than target video size!

How do I fix it? There is no .avi file that is outputed.
