what is 'soft-karaoke'?
Is it one mpg with selective subtitle?
I guess mpc can play it.

Forgive me. If my English is suck.

I have made Karaoke with ssa format. Something like this.

Dialogue: Marked=0,0:01:40.00,0:01:45.00,Karaoke,,0000,0000,0030,Karaoke,{\fs18\K100}one {\K100}two {\K50}three-{\K50}and {\K100}four

And when i'm using VirsualDub + filter to preview my Karaoke. It's work fine. But when i'm use WMP9 + vsfilter . All i can see is only "one two three-and four" but the colour doesn't change according to time code.

Well... , that mean vsfilter + wmp9 cannot playback Karaoke in ssa format? so, i'm try to find other player that allow me to playback Kareoke properly in ssa format. That's all.

Thanks for your reply

Disable the pre-buffering in the subtitle filter. That doesn´t work with these effects, apparently.

nimo, you should also be aware that effects and karaoke in SSA need a bit more of processing power to play fluently than 'static' subtitles. After all the subtitle looks different for each video frame. If your target computer is a bit older (for example this pen^3/600), just don't do it - you might be able to play it OK when you tune your computer exactly to that purpose, but it will not work just out of the box. Also if you want to do it and for as low a comp spec as possible, pay attention to have "cheap" audio encoding (MP3, not vorbis or he-aac, and no 5.1) and cheap Xvid settings (for example no QPel, no excessive use of B-frames etc) to leave as much of the processor capacity free for the subtitles.

[edit] vsfilter is able to do it, and wmp9 has probably not much to say in this respect so it should work. If you doubt it, use MPC or any of the other decent players along with vsfilter.

Now, I have turn off subpicture pre-buffering like Cyberman said and it's working!

But now, I'm found some more problem just like Unmei said.
My Karaoke are now display properly but it's look like my computer is not gonna make it... I wonder my comp spec is not enough? (Athlon XP 2.2 G, 256/333 RAM, Radeon 9600, A7V8X-X, WinXP Pro SP1) Eventhough i've turn off all filter in ffdshow? (And Crystal player can play it properly without any frame "lag" (what should i call it..?))

And Thanks again for your reply

Least CPU-eating soft karaoke for less fast CPU....

(A)
1. Use MPC in VMR9
2. Options|Subtitles
- Number of subpictures... = 0
- Maximum texture... = 384x288

Highest quality soft karaoke for faster CPU....

(B)
MPC
Same as (A) but Maximum texture... = Desktop

(C)
Vobsub
1 disable buffering subpictures
2 Use doubled resolution

---
in my case (A) worked with P3 850
(B) (C) works more than enought with P4 3.4G
