I need a DVD player that will show what frame you are on in the movie. I simply cannot find one. WinDVD, PowerDVD, Windows Media Player, ZoomPlayer, RealOne Player.... They all won't let me see what frame I am on. I need to do this so I can make chapters.

do you want to extract the chapters from an existing DVD, or do you want to create new chapters for an existing movie file...

if you have a dvd with the correct chapters, all you need is chapterextractor, if you want to create new chapters at a certain frame, why don't you just frameserve to vdub with a simple avisynth script (dgdecode) and view the frames there!

You have to put chapters on keyframes don't you?

EDIT: I add the line "(dgdecode)" and it says:

-------------------------------------
Avisynth open failure:

I don't know what "dgdecode" means
(F:\bleh.avs, line 2)
-------------------------------------

EDIT(2): I opened it up in Vdub and went to the frames I wanted chapters and noted them down. Put them into IfoEdit before publishing but they come out wrong. Is it because I left out the dgdecode bit?

I have my audio and video for my DVD ready to be authored. I want to put some chapters in during authoring using IfoEdit. The unsuccessful method I used to put the chapters in was opening it in Vdub (though AVIsynth). Going to the frame I wanted a new chapter and noting it down. Once all my frames of the chapters are noted down I input them in IfoEdit. The chapters do not appear on the specified frames. Say chapter 1 is 10sec off, chapter 2 is 30sec off, 3 1min off etc. it just keeps getting more off. I'm not even sure this is the right method. How should I find the values to input the chapters?

are you doing PAL or NTSC?

PAL. I've decided to use SpruceUp, but that program takes so damn long. There's gotta be a quicker way.
