I was making a backup of some of my dvds using DVD Shrink 3.1, a Liteon burner, and Fujifilm DVD-R media, found here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1051826235642&skuId=5393889&productCategoryId=cat01163&type=product

I haven't heard much about Fujifilm, but I was wondering if it is a good brand for DVD-R. Anyways when I play the DVD movie on my PC it is fine, but when I watch it on a standalone mp3 player every 30 seconds or so a small pixeled box or a weird pixeled (?) sound can be heard. I know my description is a little vague but I was wondering if it was the media, software, etc? Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Feel free to ask questions back to me if you need more details.

Only way to know for sure is pick up an Apple or Pioneer disk, and burn the same movie...then see if the problem persists.

I never thought much of fujifilm disks..I think they're just rebadged ritek's...and apparently ritek's have lost their quality lately.

Use sth. like dvddecrypter to read the manufacturer ID of your blanks. I've seen Fuji dvd-r blanks from Pioneer, Prodisc and Taiyo Yuden - quite a range. But I somehow doubt that blanks in a spindle will be TY :).

They are RitekG03's. Maybe I should go from 2x to 1x.

The disks are fine its the write strategy in your firmware.

The new drives drop the write capability of slower media. You have to match firmware to media.

Good luck
