View Full Version : Have ripped to HD / but which files to burn ?

Hello again, This probably seems a daft question.

Since my previous post I have successfully (I think) ripped the files to my HD - I set DVD2SVD to place all files in one folder so I would not lose any, because this is the first time I've done any ripping.

I was also hoping I would be prompted to insert blank media, but I maybe had a setting wrong as it finished the process and then shutdown.

So I think I am going to have to burn manually.

I am creating an SVCD over 2 disks - so I have no idea which files to put on disk 1 and which to put on disk 2, can anyone suggest a way forward please ?

I know I need the CUE/BIN files, which are listed as CD1/CD2 but the VOBs are not?

The other files consist of ini's / mp2's / bmp's / mpg's / xml and numerous others - 9GB + in all so obviously not all needed for a SVCD.

I tried to post a snapshot of the folder but couldn't manage it - sorry.

Alex

so do you have any bin/cue files?

OH DEAR !

Apparently my DVD player (Panasonic XV-10) won't play SVCDs - the picture looks crisp but the picture and sound judder all through the disc.

According to www.videohelp.com I could - 'quote'

Play SCDV by converting hearder of MPEG2 to MPEG1 and burning as VCD.Quality is SVCD

Could someone explain that to me please, I really want that little extra quality if at all possible.

I've read Harry7357's thread http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28604&highlight=convert+mpeg2+to+mpeg1 and did'nt really understand it.

Hi-

Your player can't play SVCDs. However, it plays VCDs, and if you can fool it into thinking that your SVCD is really a VCD, then it will play it. Here's a guide to perform the "VCD Header trick":

http://www.vcdeasy.org/modules.php?name=_Guides&id=VcdTrick

But personally, I think you'd be better off getting another player.
