Well, I have digital cable at my home w/ analog cable going into 7 other areas of the house.

One of those areas is my den, where the computer is, and where I have it connected to my ATI capture card.

What I'd like to have is a software solution to descrambling the signals so I can watch HBO and ShowTime from my pc while I work.

I know it sounds wrong but I pay for those channels already and can watch them in other parts of the house where but not the computer.

If anyone has a solution please tell me. The patch that's on doom9 doesn't seem to work.

Even if it could be done, I don't think will happen in real time, plus there are more than one scrambling method.

I had a chance to have both Quest and Cox digital cable for a month, and they can't match the quality of Direct TV's signal. Their extra box is only $5.95 a month.

What patch do you speak of?

I would think you require an application that can re-insert the synchronisation of the picture in real time... Which is a common form of analogue encryption. Often with a bit of active video inversion, thrown in for good measure!
