View Full Version : Audio Remapping Via a Menu Selection

I have been trying to backup Swordfish for a while now. I actually have done it; however I haven't been able to get the Extras menu fully functioning.

The problem is that when selecting the "Alternate Endings with Director's Commentary", the alternate endings should start with director's commentary (as opposed to without, when you select just "Alternate Endings"), but it just plays the alternate endings without the director's commentary. The audio is there, and selectable, upon playing the alternate endings; however, I have to push the Audio button on the remote or in PowerDVD to change the audio track that is playing with it. The regular audio track is audio ID 0x83 and the director's commentary is audio ID 0x84.

I have been searching all over for how to resolve this, including dvd navigation commands (assuming that may be what is not working correctly in the re-authored dvd), but have not found a solution. I thought that it may be that because it seems that selecting "Alternate Endings with Director's Commentary" from the extras screen is doing the same thing as pushing the Audio button on the remote or in PowerDVD after the correct video is playing.

Does anyone have a clue as to what could be wrong and how to remedy it?

Did you reauthor the menus with numenu or cut out any audio when you redid the VTS set?

If so, it might be as easy as just changing the audio assignments for the PGC's...

I'd also recommend seeing what menu edit says that button actually does... might be easier to track down that way

I didn't reauthor the menus, I didn't cut out any audio from that VTS, and I did look at the button command with MenuEdit. It was "JumpSS VMGM (pgcn 4)." I couldn't find any documentation on that command. The closest I could find was "JumpSS GPRM" or something.

Do you think this is even the correct direction to be looking in?

Thanks for you help!

Ah.. ok.. that means to jump to the video manager PGC 4

i'd open video_ts.ifo in ifoedit and expand the MENU's PGCITI table and look at the pre/post commands for PGC4
