I just bought today an adeptec videoh dvd media centre. to capture my analogue video as MPEG2 on the fly.
I do like this.
so I captured a 2 hour film and it was a little too big to fit on a 4.7 gig disc. I wanted chapters anyway so i chucked the Mpeg into nero vision express autodetected chapters and then burnt to a hd folder on best quality I figured DVDshrink could resize it for me and it did
It looked good on the hard drive menu's reasonable quality. so I
burnt it to a Packardbell 1x speed disk. with nero, it errored on the lead out, so I rewrote it on a 4x speed disk success (I thought) but no it wouldnt play on a standalone and powerdvd didn't like the disk either.

something is messed up for sure but ireally have no idea what anybody got any idea's

cheers

I tried burning the project again but used a DVD+ rewriteable (sony)
It works perfectly. (2.4x speed).
I am starting to wonder if Hard disk fragmentation could be the cause of the problems as it seems from time to time the buffer seems not to keep up.

Sounds like a media problem. Keep experimenting till you find a brand of media that works well with your burner, and stick with that. Also, burning at lower speeds always gets more reliable results. I seldom burn anything faster than 1x, and I hardly ever burn coasters anymore, even with crappy media.

well After 6 hours of defragging my harddrive I tried burning the project again to a nasty packard bell 1X DVD-R Disk. It works fine :)

So hopefully its just buffer underruns that created so much grief for me
