Just one little question

Hi everybody,

I was looking for a freeware in order to put a DVD-9 on a DVD-5. A lot of sites recommand DVD Shrink, but I saw the developpement of this freeware is stopped. Then, I found DVD Rebuilder.

But, is DVD Rebuilder is a kind of DVD Shrink ? Can I backup my DVD9 on a DVD5 with DVD Rebuilder ?

yes. DVD Rebuilder is freeware if you use QuEnc or rejig but not CCE. and no it's not kind of like shrink.

Yes the aim of Rebuilder is DVD-9 -> DVD-5 like dvdshrink. But Rebuilder can do re-encoding of the video (unlike Shrink which does transcoding). The difference is using CCE (or QuEnc) the quality gained by re-encoding compared to transcoding may be beneficial but at the cost of a lot longer processing time.

Rebuilder can be used with ReJig instead, which then makes it quite similar to DVD Shrink, in certain respects (i.e. it transcodes the video).

Please do a bit more reading of the Guides and forum FAQs, as well as trying out the applications...
