View Full Version : Is it normal for CCE to use around ~200meg of memory?

Is this a bug in my version or is this normal?

It just seems excessive... Not even Photoshop 7 is as greedy as this.

Since I only have 512mb in my system, CCE pretty much grinds the system to a halt if I try to multitask. Any workarounds or tips at all?

Apart from this niggle, the big 3 works a treat... Good work guys!

Yes it's normal...and photoshop CAN use whatever ram you have available if you assign it to. I use it everyday and have it use upwards of 700MB :)

You can lower the priority of cce (there's an option in batchCCE and I think DoCCE for this - or do it from the task manager)

Still will use as much ram as available but should help w/ multitasking..

Or do like most of us do and start your encode, then go to bed :)

Yep, I usually have it set to low priority, but the amount of RAM used makes things like playing Far Cry out of the question.

It's not really too much of a problem really... I just thought my CCE was having memory leaks. Night encoding sounds like a good idea, I'll give it a go sometime. :)
